Косвенная речь

Правило

В косвенной речи после глагола в прошедшем времени время «сдвигается назад»: am / is → was, do / does → did, will → would, can → could, Past Simple → Past Perfect.

Меняются и слова: today → that day, tomorrow → the next day, yesterday → the day before, here → there, now → then.

Вопросы превращаются в придаточные без инверсии: He asked where I lived. Общие вопросы — с if / whether: She asked if I was ready.

Примеры с пояснениями

  1. Он сказал: «Я устал». → Он сказал, что устал. He said that he was tired.Present Simple в косвенной речи сдвигается в Past Simple: am / is → was.
  2. Она сказала: «Я живу в Риге». She said that she lived in Riga.Present Simple → Past Simple.
  3. Он сказал: «Я позвоню завтра». He said he would call the next day.Will → would, tomorrow → the next day.
  4. Она сказала: «Я не могу прийти». She said that she couldn't come.Can't → couldn't.
  5. Он спросил: «Где ты живёшь?» He asked me where I lived.В косвенном вопросе нет do: порядок слов обычный, время сдвигается.
  6. Она спросила: «Ты готов?» She asked if I was ready.Общий вопрос в косвенной речи вводится словом if / whether.
  7. Он сказал: «Я видел её вчера». He said he had seen her the day before.Past Simple → Past Perfect, yesterday → the day before.
  8. Она сказала: «Я работаю сейчас». She said she was working then.Present Continuous → Past Continuous.
  9. Учитель сказал: «Откройте книги». The teacher told us to open our books.Просьба и приказ передаются через told + кому + to + глагол.
  10. Он сказал: «Я никогда там не был». He said that he had never been there.Present Perfect → Past Perfect.
  11. Она спросила: «Что ты делаешь?» She asked me what I was doing.Present Continuous → Past Continuous, порядок слов прямой.
  12. Он сказал: «Мы приедем сюда завтра». He said they would arrive there the next day.Here в косвенной речи меняется на there.
